Our Honeymoon Story

We had a VERY fun, busy and VERY exausting honeymoon trip to CA! We started out on Friday night after work flying in to LA. Lens aunt and uncle picked us up from there and we spent the night at their house about an hour from the airport. It was 3:00 their time for us to go to bed (5 this time).
We got up around lunch time and ate scrambledeggs and toast with them. Sometime in the afternoon Len and I went toHamliton Beach (sp?) in LA. I wore my swimsuit under my clothes as it seemed nice at their house but it was rather chilly at the beach. We sat at the beach and ate a sandwhich from a nearby oceanside shop. We watched the surfers try to catch the waves, and walked along thebeach till the sun went down. Then we went to starbucks coffee, and continued our way down to San Diego which is 2 hours south of LA. Our hotel room was on the 16th floor so we had a pretty good veiw of abay..could see a navy ship parked at the shore, and watch cruiseships, boats, and barges going through.
Sunday morning we went to Meeting--stopped at an older couples home and followed them to meeting. Very small meeting! After meeting we were invited to theolder couples son's family home for lunch. They had a really fancyhouse..and put on a pretty formal lunch. Great chicken! I've never had better chicken! And they served a huge tray of friuts that i'venever had better either!! Len and I went for a walk and ivited theirlittle girl along too..they had 3 adopted children! We then headed for gosple meeting then the older couple invtited us over for supper. We ordered tacos at a real mexican fast food place and took them backto their house...the tacos were really good! He used to be Len's grandma's boyfriend back in the days..:) After supper we headed to an apartment where some of Len's friends live. We played some games with them..and had a great visit. We went to target for some supplies and saw some very stinky homless guys.
Monday we went to the SanDiego Zoo. Just as the sun was setting we left and hurried across thebridge to Coronado Beach (sp?)..the bridge is probably close to halfa mile long..and very high off the water so ships can go under it.The beach is on an island! The beach was amazing!..we could sit thereand be the only couple on the beach which is at least a mile long! For supper we went to Old Town and ate at a mexican resturant. Later,We enjoyed the hot tub which is outside on the roof of the 3rdfloor..which was pretty fun:)
Tuesday we went to another beachfarther north called La Jolla (sp?). We had found out the tide wouldbe out by noon so we got there just in time to see the tide pools! The water goes out but leaves behind water inside holes of rockswhere small things live. We could see Sea Aneminies (sp??), snails, and small fish. on the beach there were seals laying on rocks, mostlysleeping. Len and I ate there outside at a small resturant. Later we again went over the bridge to the island to watch the sun go down and walked around the hotel (Hotel de Corenado). There is some neat stores there and Len spoiled me by buying me a piece of chocolatecovered almonds for $3;) At one resturant there was outdoor seating with little gas firepits to sit around. So we enjoyed warming up there as a light rain started to come down. A special event was going on so they had a skating rink up! funny to see people skating on iceat the beach!
Wednesday we decided to take the train around town. We started going in the wrong direction then we wanted so ended up at Old Town again..we walked around there for maybe an hour then gotback on the train..and headed to Seaport Village. When we got there they had a booth where you could buy tickets to ride the Seal. We debated about spending the $ to do it, but decided it was worthit..since it would be my first time out in the ocean;) We had a little time to spare so we ate Lunch there at a resturant that sat on a deck..could feed the seagulls through the cracks in the deck below! I ate fish and chips..the kids meal..it was plenty big enough anyways:)
Then it was time for the Seal..its a huge truck or bus thathad seating for at least 50 in the back with open sides and it drivesthrough town then comes to a dock and drives right in! Then its aboat! It feels like a big boat, it just can't go that fast. It droveus out to an area where there were sea lions on some man madedecks..we even saw a sea lion sleeping in the water..with just itstail and "hands" out of the water. Its head stays under ..i don'tknow way that is!
Later after that ride Len and I looked around the stores in Seaport Village, bought an icecream cone, and walked to the train again. We took it to Gaslamp Quarters. It was raining and not so warm at all..so we only walked up a few blocks on one side andback..its mostly for bars and shopping so wasn't that interesting. We talked to a somewhat normal guy that was homeless..that was interesting! He didnt ask for anything..so i guess he was doing alright.
We didn't go anywhere for supper, just went back to our hotel as it was cold and raining, so we didnt want to do anything else.
Thursday morning we woke up and down below us on the road were thousands of runners...i don't know for what cause but they were playing "who let the dogs out" really loud so that we could hear itin our room! After they had cleared the streets we headed to a bagleshop for breakfast then headed on our way to Lompoc for T-day. It was a 4 hour drive..which turned into 5 hours because of traffic (shouldhave left earlier i suppose!). T-day was a Len's parents..and they dot-day supper instead of lunch. All the aunts and uncles were there...so got to meet more family. They had deep fat fried turkey, ham, potatoes, sweet potatoes, pie.. everything!!
Later that night weheaded back to LA with Lens aunt and uncle and lens sister Melissa.Friday morning we got up around 6:00 and left for Disneyland!! Len'scousin Heather also came to disneyland with us..so there were 6 of usthere. We went on almost all the rides--except about 5 of them! 2 ofthem we went on twice:) We stayed there till 1:00 in themorning..gotta get the $$ worth:)
Saturday morning we all slept intill about noon! We ate french toast together, and sat around the table talking till late afternoon! Then Len and I, his cousin and his sister went to Giffin park..the parking lot was full up at the observitory, so we had to walk a mile to the top. The views were worth it! Could see all of LA! Giffin Park is the largest park in acity in the U.S! Later that night we headed back up to Lompoc!
Len and I stayed at his grandma's and in the morning went to Meeting. Itwas a pretty big meeting! After meeting they had a potluck for us, and we brought our laptop with our wedding pictures and a few other things like the guest book..and there was a cheesecake for us..we picked out pink roses after meeting to put on the cheesecake. they had us cut the cake..len got my cheek with frosting! Anyways, that was really nice of them to put on a little party for us:)
Sunday night we headed back to LA and his aunt and uncle took us back to the airport late at night..flight out was supposed to be at 1:00 but turned out to be 2 hours late so it didnt come till 3:00. We were really tired but its hard to sleep on the plane...glad to have today off to rest up! When we got in Kris picked us up and we came home and slept all afternoon:) I bet we will sleep all night too:) Anyways, hope this wasn't TOO long:) and not too many spelling errors:) Hope you all had a great T-day:)
