New shoes!
Here's the picture of our new Red Wing shoes!! Its awesome to have a really comfy and long lasting pair of shoes that aren't just $10-15 shoes from payless! We got these for 1/2 off or more so they were a great deal!

Spring has taken a wing!

Len surpized me with these pretty flowers on friday:) What a great way to end the week!
On the spur-of-the-moment we decided to go to Red Wing and spend Friday night in a motel and watch the eagles soar above the river on down to wabasha. Mom and Dad were in Wabasha, which was about a 1/2 hour away, spending their 39th anv. there! So we spent some of the day with them at the Eagle Center and watching the eagles with them. We learned a lot about eagles! The picture above is of Red Wing from a little park we found after winding as high up we could on some side streets since we didn't want to climp up the sceanic overlook drive that was still closed for the season.
Heres some neat facts we didn't know before: Eagles bodies are perfectly in balance..if they loose a feather on one side, the same feather on the other side will fall off too. Eagles build nests deeper, up to maybe 8 feet, because of all the manure their young dispose of inside the nest. They keep the young in their nests till they are "full grown"--about 2 years. Their eyes are naturally polorized..so there is no glare off the water..which makes it really easy for them to spot their pray. They eat all parts of their pray..bones and all. A tiny speck of lead, like a piece of a bullet, can kill an eagle. Only 40% live past the first year of life.Wish we could have gotten a picture of them in flight on the river but its really hard to do since they are kind of at a distance..and moving..
Back in Red Wing we went to the shoe store (Red Wing shoes, of course). They were having a great sale on shoes....and so we decided to get a pair for both of us!! I'll post a picture later.
A pretty sunset on the way home..bright sun in our eyes..ouch!Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Caught in the act, they were!
No, I'm not talking about us! The other day I went to an eye clinic to get an appointment (so I can order more contacts..) and showed them my insurance card. I asked if they accepted it, and they said they did. So today when I went in, I had the appointment and afterwards sat down for the billing part. The lady behind the desk said we don't accept that..several times. A different lady working with us tried to call them, and didn't get through. She acted like they were closed and couldn't get though (which I know its 24 hours..). After looking at the insurance info on the computer that she had she still had no clue to what it meant, and neither did I. (what does vieriable co-pay mean??) I told her to call again, and that time she got through. She found out they were out-of network, which they didn't tell me to begin with. The insurance company can reimburse me..which is better then not covered at all! So much for the first lady! AND they probably won't see me again after I pick up the contacts I ordered! A lady in this situation that wasn't as nice as me would have been HOPPING mad!
